Do Your Kids Ever Embarrass You?

Recently, I ran into an old coworker while out to lunch with my family. As I was saying hi to her Addie asked her, "Do you have babies?" (meaning do you have kids?) To which the some what larger lady replied, "No, I'm just really fat!" Obviously she thought Addie was asking her if she was pregnant. I immediatley felt so emabarrassed! I just sat there mortified by Addie and by the lady's comment. Addie on the other hand, looked at her confused by the answer and said to her, "Well, do you have brothers and sisters?" I then felt the need to explain to the woman Addie's previous question but you could tell that she totally didn't believe me and she very quickly made her exit out of the restaurant. My husband and I sat there just staring at eachother for a while and then finally he says, "AWKWARD!" We both just started busting up because that was the most awkward experience of my life!! Kids are embarrassing but they sure do make life fun!

THREE

My baby is growing up! And too fast might I add. I swear that just yesterday day she was my little rollie pollie toddler and now she is a little girl! Yesterday was Addie's third birthday and oh my was this a long day coming in her eyes. We only talked about her birthday every single day for the past three months! To celebrate her birthday we had a little carnival birthday party (pictures to come later). Once again, I got one of my grand ideas and the party turned into a living breathing monster. Tom says that if I ever want to do anything like this again I can feel free to do it but to leave him out of it! No seriously, that is almost exactly what he said. But despite the fact that I ended up spending way more on the party than if I would have given Addie every toy she said she wanted for her birthday, it was a huge hit and everybody had fun!

So much has happened in the last little bit with my sweet Addie bug. To name a few, she started dance at Dance Illusion, and she goes to preschool once a week at a place called Miss Rosemary's. Addie loves both so much! She talks about her teachers all the time until she gets to see them again. It is so cute! So the whole preschool thing was a big debate because we didn't want to start her too early but we also wanted to start her now in case she could start elementary school a year earlier. Anyway, this preschool she goes to is more of a social experience and plus it is only one day a week so she won't get burnt out. She also gets to go with her cousin Libby that she loves, and it gives me and her a little break! So I would say we made the right choice.

Addie on the first day of preschool.
First day of dance!
I just want to take a moment to say that I love Addie so much! She has truly changed my life with her presence. She is so sweet, caring, tenderhearted, inquisitive, silly and smart! I just don't know what I would do with out her. She is such a good big sis and always wants Berlin with her. I can't believe three years has already gone by. It has been so fun so far to watch her grow up! Every stage in her life is a new adventure for us! She is my best buddy! I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I DO! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDIE BELLE!

2 Months and a Blessing

We got to bless Berlin on June 13th, the same day she turned 2 months. It was such a fun and special day. I got the grand idea that I would make all the food for our family party by myself. Usually when I get an idea like this in my head, it ends up in disaster but this time everything worked out great! I spent all of saturday preparing yummy yummy Costa Vida style mexican food and rootbeer float cupcakes that would later be devoured by our loving family! On Sunday, we were blessed to have all of our family, including Tom's sister Melisa and her family come from Victor, Idaho to support us as we blessed Berlin. I was so excited that they came I was all teary even before Sacrament Meeting started. The only ones not there were my sister and her husband who live in Texas, but we sure missed them!Tom gave Berlin an amazing and beautiful blessing! I am so grateful for his worthiness to hold the Priesthood, that he could be inspired to bless her with such amazing things!

It's funny how worried I was about every detail about what Berlin was wearing, and that she look perfect for her blessing because then the blessing was over in a matter of minutes. And I am the only one that probably noticed or cared about her little bracelet or the fact that she was wearing ruffled tights instead of ruffled socks. But oh well, I am just an OCD mom and everything turned out perfect anyway.

Doesn't she look so gorgeous in her little dress!

She has the cutest chuby cheeked smile! This isn't even the biggest smile she'll give ya. She is such a happy mellow little baby. I just love having her around. And she has the cutest little laugh she does when she is super excited!

I took Berlin to the doctor yesterday for her 2 month visit. I was pleasantly surprised, I thought she would weigh upwards of 12 pounds because she has been getting chunky really fast but she weighed 10lb 13oz and is 22 in long. Not bad! Addie weighed 10lb and oz at Berlin's age so she's not that chubby. But I love that she has cute rolls and big cheekies to smooch on all day long! The poor thing had to get 3 shots so the whole time she was awake yesterday, she would just cry and cry. I felt so bad for her. She is just a treat to be around, and Addie still loves her just as much as ever! Poor little Addie Bug did have a rough go for a while, I think she thought I had replaced her, but she is doing lots better now. I try to spend some time with just her everyday and we do mommy daughter dates every week. And PS she is being potty trained! WOOHOO! I plan on doing a post on just Addie Bug because she has been growing up and learning lots of new things! Well that's all so stay tuned til next time folks!

One Month

Just a few facts about my little Berlin. She still likes to sleep alot in the day and not very much at night. She also has the cutest double chin I've ever seen. She loves the bouncer but would much rather cuddle the day away. She puts up with her sister constantly bugging her and yelling her face. She is a very aware baby as well. I love her so much. It's fun but a little hard with two munchkins now, but mainly only from my lack of sleep. Here are some lovely pictures of Berlin from her one month photoshoot. She was not cooperating like we would have liked so we didn't get very many.

2 Weeks

I can't believe Berlin is already 2 weeks old! Boy how time flies! I was so nervous about taking her to her 2 week well baby visit today because I had to take her and Addie all by myself. But I did it! And Addie was a good girl the whole time! I was so happy that I got Addie an ice cream cone on the way home. I am always worried about how well and how long Berlin eats but I have nothing to worry about. Why? Because she gained 13 oz in 10 days! She went from 6lb 3 oz at her follow up visit to 7lb 0oz today! I think I might be feeding her pure fat! She is now 19 1/4 in long as well. I am just so in love with my little girls! Addie is still being a little momma to Berlin, and for the most part it is still cute but sometimes she tries to help too much.

You can kind of see her blonde highlights!

My photography skills are so not up to par. I can't wait til May when my sister comes from Texas to get some really good pictures of Berlin and Addie.

Introducing

So I am almost a week late posting this but I feel like I have good reason to be a slacker right now. I would like to intoduce to you all Berlin Ann Davis. Born April 13, 2010 at 4:07 pm she weighed in at 6lb 6oz and 19 in long! And boy is she a cutie! We are all absolutely in love with her! Addie is already such a good big sister to her. I was so worried about how Addie would react but so far I have had nothing to worry about. The first thing she said when she saw her was "My baby!" and she nearly lept out of my mom's arms to try to get to her. So here are some photos of Berlin's entrance into this world.

This is right afte she was born. I know not the prettiest picture of either of us, but it was one of the most wonderful moments of my life.

Getting cleaned off.

She had a rough little bit at the first and needed oxygen, so this is when she finally was settled down.

You can't tell very well, but she has three blonde spots in her hair. It looks like she got her hair highlighted while in my belly.

Big sis is always so happy to hold her baby sister. She never wants anyone to hold her unless she gets to help.

All dressed and ready to go home. This is where our adventure begins. So far so good but I know everything won't always be perfect. I just know I love my two little girls with all my heart, and can't wait to watch them grow up together!

Almost To The End

I figured it was about time to give everybody an update on my pregnancy before it's too late. I have finally hit my last month! I am 36.3 weeks along now. Boy am I excited! It's funny, I went to the doctor today and he said he couldn't believe I was already this far along, he felt like I just got pregnant and I should have so much longer to go. The whole time I was thinking to myself what a long pregnancy this has been. Don't get me wrong I love being pregnant and I am so excited to bring another child into this world, but there is only so much room in this 4 foot 11 inch frame I have. Let's just say I have been a little squished as of late.

When I am pregnant I get hyperthyroidism which is totally weird because it goes away after I have the baby and my thyroid is totally normal otherwise. But because I get this only when I'm pregnant, I get monitored a lot more than somone else who just is normal during pregnancy. It sucks because I have to get my labs checked a lot to make sure my medicine is working but the fun part is, I get to see my baby a lot!

I feel like I have gotten to know my little munchkin a lot since I get to see her progress. She definitely is different from Addie! Addie was always showing off every time I got an ultrasound. She would happily show you she was a girl, suck her thumb, kick, and move a lot. Berlin on the other hand, is shy as shy can be. She always covers her little face and always has her little legs crossed. She only likes to move when nobody is around, so I get annoyed sometimes because she will kick me to death but as soon as Tom tries to feel her she stops!

This picture is one I got today at my ultrasound. It is by far one of the best of her face we have been able to see, even though she is still totally covering it with her hand. Little Stinker! Do you spy the extremely chubby cheek going on in this picture? I am a little worried she might be a really big girl! But I guess that just means I have fed her well in my tummy! ;)

I also had the pleasure of finding out that I am already dialated to a 2, and that my doctor is going to induce me! He said we will make a plan when I see him on the 12th of April, as long as I don't deliver before then. I really hope I don't deliver befor then anyway because he is going out of town and I don't want another doctor delivering me! Plus it doesn't help that Tom is having surgery this week and so he wouldn't be too much help in the delivery room. So everyone pray that Berlin stays fat and happy in my belly until April 12th. Then she can feel free to come!

DISNEYLAND 2010

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to go to Disneyland with Tom's whole family. There were 25 of us total, well 26 if you include the babe in my belly. We had so much fun! We also got to fly there for free thanks to Tom's internship. So here are a few pics from the trip. Sorry there aren't more but we kept forgeting to take pictures, we were just too busy having fun!
This Addie posing at the entrance of Disneyland! She kept yelling for Mickey and Minnie everywhere we went. She was so excited to be there!

Surprisingly, Addie loved driving the cars in Autopia!

Waiting in line for the Tea Cups! Addie loved this ride!! She would yell and scream and giggle until she got dizzy. Then she would put her hands up and say "Stop! Stop! Stop!" It was so funny!

Most of the neices and nephews posing on Dumbo after the ride! We sure do have a lot of cuties in our family!

Addie met Mickey Mouse!! She would act scared whenever she met any character but after would keep yelling their names and looking for them.

I think meeting Minnie was better than meeting Mickey. Addie even blew her a kiss or two and gave her big hugs!
We had such a fun trip with Tom's family. All the kids were really cute to eachother, and good old Davis was such a sport. I think addie would have smothered him to death with all the loves she always had to give him.
After four days in Disneyland, we went to San Diego for a day to meet up with some old dear friends of ours! It was so much fun, and they have the cutest munchkins! We are sad because they are moving in Japan for three years and we will miss them dearly.
If Disney and San Diego wasn't enough, Tommy convinced me that we should go visit his uncle's sail boat and go sailing with him. Sailing wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite. I probably would have liked it better if I wasn't hugely pregnant and didn't have scared teary two year old clinging to me for dear life. But at least Tom had a blast. He actually got to sail most of the time, which convinced him that now he needs a sail boat one day!
By the end of the trip we were ready to go home, but not without one more little adventure. We were sure we could get on our flight home since there were 79 open seats and we were on stand by. Well, it turns out there were also 76 other people on stand by with us and we were the second to last passengers to get cleared right before take off. I'm just glad we made it! I would not have wanted to wait the long hours in the airport for the next flight!

Changes, Changes, Changes

I said I was going to be better at blogging and I totally have not followed through with that promise. But I have a few good excuses. We have had a lot of changes going on in our house. Probably one of the most excited is that Tom got an internship with SkyWest. So let me tell you how this all came to be. One day Tom comes home from flying with his instructor and says: "I hear SkyWest hasn't filled their intership for this semester, I think I'm going to apply." I say "Ok, sounds good to me." Then over then next week he received two phone calls where he was interviewed for two different internships. They told him they would let him know around New Years. So out of the blue on a Sunday, Tom gets this email saying he got an internship with them and he needs to go to training in a week. We were totally stoked, but yet confused because they didn't tell him what intership it was. So the next day he gets another email saying he needs to come interview for an internship that week.

So, to make a long story short, (notice I am skipping the part where I got really mad and cried for hours because I thought he got the internship that I didn't want him to get) Tom goes down to Salt Lake for this interview and they asked him if he applied for more than one internship with the company. He said yes and they said Oh never mind we don't need to interview you then because you already got the Flight Ops internship! How crazy is that! It happened to be the internship that we wanted him to get because it worked with our schedules better and he would get more experience in the flight area than adminstration. Anywho, we get flight benefits til May which is great, and we have many plans to travel til my pregoness won't let me anymore.

Tom has already had so much fun with this internship! Just last week he got to Montreal to pick up a RJ700! How cool is that!! I would dish all the details of his trip but that would take like a day and a half!
We had been saying we wanted to move Addie into a big girl bed before Christmas. Then one night a couple weeks before Christmas, Addie decided herself she was ready for a bed by using her crib as a jungle gym! She has transitioned really well and only got out a couple times the first night! She is actually a lot more willing to go to bed at night now that she is in her own bed.

Last but not least, has been my growing belly. I am now 27 1/2 weeks pregnant! Just so you all know, I will never post a picture of my huge fatness. I can't bear to have any pictorial evidence of how large and whalish I become during pregnancy. I honostly believe my mom when she told me that every pregnancy is different. Although I am having another girl, this pregnancy is so much different than Addie. I was so mellow and happy and comfortable when I was prego with Addie. This time around I am much more needy, whiny, and uncomfortable. I feel like my husband thinks I am the craziest, most hormonal pregnant lady on earth. But he sure treats great none the less. But I just can't wait til April when this cute girl will come home to us! I am super excited by the way, because next week we get to have an ultrasound and see our cute baby's face again! YAY!

Big News!

Well everybody, the wait is finally over! Today we had our big ultrasound! It already feels like I have been pregnant forever, and I am just barely half way done now. This baby has a totally different personality than Addie, that's for sure. The tech had a really hard time getting a good look at the face and finding out the sex. He had to keep poking and proding the baby to get it to move and then finally it did! I know the suspense is killing you all by now, so should I just tell you what it is already? Ok here goes...

IT"S A GIRL!!

We are so excited! We would have been happy with a boy too. I had so much anxiety built up because I just couldn't tell what it would be. When I was pregnant with Addie I knew the whole time she would be a girl, I just had the strongest feeling about it. But this time around I felt really confused. I am just glad I finally know! Plus the tech said that she looks great and has a;; her fingers and toes and is perfect. He estimates her wieght to be about 10 oz right now. Isn't that tiny?

We bought Addie a pink baby that came with a little crib. She didn't really care that we were telling her she would have a baby sister, she just cared that she got a new baby toy to play with! Addie is going to be such a good big sister! Now she can pass all her girly wisdom on to her baby sister! Now that hard part is waiting the long time to get this cute girl here! And at least we don't have to fight about names! We were lucky enough with Addie that we both liked her name and the same for our little Berlin that is on her way. Boys names are a whole other story!

Well, that's all for now folks! I'll post pictures later, the news was just to exciting to hold back!

Its Been A Long Time

So, its been a really long time since I have posted anything. We have had a few things going on during my absence from the blogging world. First off, Miss Addie turned 2! She had so much fun at both her parties. Yeah she spoiled because she got two parties. Sadly, I have no pictures to show of that since our camera died at her first party, and then I forgot to charge it before the second party. I still need to get all the pics from family members.

Second and the main reason I have not been blogging is because I am prego! We are so excited to welcome another baby into our home in April. But this baby has already been giving me a run for my money. I have been worshipping the porcelain god a lot the last couple months (if you know what I mean). But things have been a lot better the last couple weeks so I thought everyone should know I am still alive and we are all well.

Third, we celebrated halloween! I went all out this year by making mine and Tommy's costumes. We went as Tinkerbell, Hook, and Wendy. Addie loved dressing up as Tinkerbell, the only problem was she did not like wearing her wings. We took her trick or treating to my parents, my aunt, grandma and grandpa Swedberg, and then to Tommy's parents. She also got invited to her cousin's halloween party which she loved! We stopped by a truck or treat before the party and the whole time she kept saying: "Linky, Linky! A hand!" and then her cousin Lincoln would hold her hand. The bad part is that he was dressed as Buzz Light Year and there were a few other Buzzes so she would go up to them and try to hold their hand. We ended the night with The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, which has been a tradition ever since we got married. All in all it was a great night!

So I promise to be better about blogging now that I am feeling better!

"Winnie Dog Out!"

Every day, Addie runs to the door with Winnie's leash and yells: "Winnie dog out!" So I help her take the dog out and she always ends up letting go of the leash to go search for rocks and dirt. These pictures are from sunday when she had just woken up from a nap and I hadn't gotten her dressed yet. She wanted to let the dog out so bad but I told she had to wear her raincoat since it was raining and she didn't mind at all as long as winnie went out. She is so funny that little munchkin!

Anniversary, Birthday, and a Shiner

We've been a little busy lately, so that is why I haven't posted in forever. August is one of my favorite months because I get to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary right in row!

First came our annivesary on August 4th. We have been married for 5 years now!!! Can you believe it? What can I say about being married to my best friend for this long? I just love Tom so much! We have so much fun together, and we always have adventures whenenver we do something. He is such a good dad! Addie absolutely adores him and he adores her! I love to watch them together. He brings out the best in me and he makes me want to become a better person because he is so great! He teaches me something new every single day. He is the hardest working guy I have ever met. He has made so many sacrifices for our family and wants to set a good example for Addie and our future kids. The list goes on and on of all the things I could say about Tom. The most important one to me is that he loves me and I love him and we get to spend our lives together forever! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BABE!!!
This is the picture from our wedding announcement. Sorry it is so grainy. And I know what you are all thinking; WOW I actually used to be kind of thin! HA HA

The day after our anniversary was my birthday! I turned the big 25! Man I feel old now. We had so much fun on my birthday. We had gone up to Bear Lake for the week to celebrate and so on my birthday we played all day on the beach and then went to Bear Lake pizza for dinner. PS I will never eat there again because there was some bad chicken on my pizza and I felt sick all night long! But other than that is was a great day!

Addie got a shiner this past weekend. How sad is that? She was running all around her room and she ran into the computer chair. We didn't notice it until we were at the fair saturday night. I took this picture this morning of it. It looks a lot better than it did but I still feel so bad for her. She looks so sad in this picture too.

Baby Shower Gift

I went to a baby shower this week for one of the MANY prego girls at work. For the occasion I decided to make a onesie dress (mine is actually a onesie with a skirt) and burp clothes. I am really happy with how they turned out so here are the pictures.

I have been sewing a lot lately and it has gotten me thinking. I have been considering starting a sewing blog about my many adventures, especially since this blog is supposed to be about my cute family. I would probably also put some tutorials on there every now and then. I also plan on venturing into the world of sewing boy stuff too! So let me know your opinion of the idea, and be on the look out soon to see my new blog (If I am brave enough to start a new blog that is).

Rockin Some Shades

I love Addie! She is so cute and funny. The other day I was getting her ready to go run some errands and she found her pink sunglasses and just had to wear them. She wore the sunglasses everywhere we went. She can totally rock sunglasses with style!
She just loves to hug her baby doll.

That is the best facial expression ever!

She would lift the sunglasses up to her forehead and say "uh-oh!" a million times.

Sunday Addie didn't get a nap because we had a family party right after church. So when we got home I let her watch Mickey Mouse before I put her to bed. I looked up from my sewing to find her asleep in her chair using Tommy's CD case as a foot rest! Isn't she the cuteset?!

Best Trip Ever!

Note to readers: This is a very long post!

Last week we went to Portland and it was so much fun! I have to say it was one of my favorite trips we have ever been on. It wasn't one of those trips where you go and go and go and come back to your hotel exhausted. We did a ton of stuff but we did it at a leisurely pace. Here is a quick run down of our trip:

On our way to Portland we stopped at Multnomah and Horse Tail Falls. Our first day we went to the Children's Museum, which Tommy and Addie loved! We also went to the International Rose Test Garden and then finished the day in downtown Portland. We went to one of my favorite stores, Finnegan's Toy Store, and we searched for a fabric store that we had been to before but it no longer exists. We also strolled the streets of the Nobhill and Pearl districts. Our second day we went to the Evergreen Aviation and Aerospace Museum to see the Spruce Goose then we drove to Vancouver, WA to have lunch with our friends Cody and Tenille (stupid me didn't even take a pic). Then Tommy let me spend all the time I wanted in The Fabric Depot, which a huge fabric store. The night we had dinner with our other friends Tom and Rosie at a really cute and romantic italian resturaunt. Oour third day we drove to the coast and explored Oceanside and Cannon Beach and ate at the is little place called the Big Wave Which had really yummy food. On our way home, Tommy stopped at Hilsboro Aviation to talk to them about getting a job. Our last day, we thought we would relax so we went to an awesone greek place for lunch, got yummy VooDoo doughnuts, took a nap, and swam in the pool. For our last dinner we went to a district called Resturaunt Row where we had the best gourmet pizza ever at Ken's Artisan Pizza! On our way home from Portland, we stopped at another museum dedicated to vintage airplanes and cars and they all still run! All in all it was a very fun trip and I was happy that Tommy got to go do some things he loves! Here is a ton of pictures from our awesome week!

On the bridge at Multnomah Falls

Taking a look together.

Addie loved the water at Horse Tail Falls! She was so mad when we left.

Isn't that a pretty waterfall?

Where's Addie?

The driver on the bus says "Move on Back!"

Rock a Bye babies.

Checkin out in the grocery store!

We spent an hour alone in the water room. And isn't her poncho so cute!

GO Duck! Go!
