Adventure Awaits at Ikea

We got a check in the mail yesterday from canceling our auto insurance so we decided to use to buy some much needed storage for Addie's room. So off we headed to Ikea. In the car Tommy and I played "Name that Band" which is where I put in a CD and he tries to guess who it is. It was fun because some of the CD's we haven't listened to in years so it brought back lots of fun memories. It was kind of a silly game because I totally could control how many points Tommy got depending on how hard of a CD I picked. Plus I am way better at the game because I know way more bands than he does. We also listened to one of my favorite CD's in the whole world; Roy D. Mercer. It is this radio guy who prank calls people on behalf of their friends. He gets them all riled up and then tells them the jokes on the them. It is hysterical!

Like I said before, Addie's room was in much need of storage due to the fact that she got a million toys for Christmas. But did we buy the needed storage while we were at Ikea? Of course not! Instead we bought her a cute little table and matching stairs, a high chair (which we needed), some storage for our kitchen, a play purse for her and some finger puppets. None of these were things we went to Ikea for but they ended up being out of stock of the thing we went for anyway so oh well.

But our adventure did not end at Ikea. In fact it had just begun. We went to some burger joint which will remain nameless (because I never want to think of it again) for a bite to eat. We were just digging in to our food and I opened some fruit snacks to feed Addie. I think she was to busy bouncing on the seat and squealing with joy to remember to chew. So what happened? she choked of course. And what always follows when Addie chokes on a fruit snack? She barfed! Not only did she barf out the one stupid fruit snack but she then has to make a specticle and barf out the entire contents of her stomach all over my tray of food and right in front of her dad (who has the weakest stomach ever). So there I am frantically wiping of baby barf and Tommy is sitting there ghost white like he is going to lose too. And all he can say is "Take her to the bathroom! Take her to the bathroom!"

I eventually got Addie as cleaned up as I could in the bathroom, and Tommy threw away my half eaten meal. He said that while he was cleaning up my tray he almost lost because he caught a whiff of the puke. Poor guy I don't know who I was more worried about Addie who seemed to enjoy the whole thing or Tommy who I thought would either pass out or barf all over me. As you can probably guess we made a quick exit from the place and headed to Kohls so I could buy Addie something to where on the way home.

Luckily, the trip home was pretty mellow and easy, except for when I thought I was going to pee my pants and we had to stop at the Wellcome Mart in Wellsville. I always say to Tommy when something unexpected happens: "What would life be without an adventure?" And today sure turned out to be just that.
